LAPL Automotive Limited has strengthened its Mirror Division with two new business developments involving electric two-wheeler manufacturers Oben Electric and BGAUSS, expanding its participation in India’s growing electric mobility market.
The company has received a development order from Oben Electric for rear-view mirrors (RVMs) for electric two-wheelers. The programme marks Oben Electric as a new OEM customer for LAPL Automotive and will involve the company working towards meeting the manufacturer’s technical, quality and validation requirements.
The development programme provides LAPL Automotive with an opportunity to demonstrate its engineering, product development and manufacturing capabilities for a new electric two-wheeler OEM. Any transition from development to commercial production will depend on successful customer validation, approval and commercial processes.
Alongside the new Oben Electric programme, LAPL Automotive has expanded its existing relationship with BGAUSS by adding a new rear-view mirror product to the manufacturer’s portfolio. Production of the new product is scheduled to begin in October 2026.
The two developments will broaden LAPL Automotive’s Mirror Division across both its customer base and product portfolio. While the Oben Electric programme establishes a new OEM relationship, the BGAUSS order increases the company’s contribution to an existing customer’s electric two-wheeler range.

“At the same time, the addition of a new RVM product for BGAUSS expands an existing customer relationship, with production scheduled to begin in October 2026. LAPL Automotive manufactures automotive components across lighting systems, mirrors, motors and plastic moulded products. The company serves OEMs across passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, two-wheelers and electric mobility, operating through both Original Design Manufacturing and Original Brand Manufacturing models.
With the latest programmes, LAPL Automotive is seeking to increase its involvement in electric mobility projects while strengthening its position as a component development and manufacturing partner for two-wheeler OEMs.
