Energy In Motion Limited (EIM) has entered into a strategic MoU with Oil Field Warehouse & Services Limited (OWS) and Radiance Green Mobility Private Limited to deploy electric heavy commercial vehicles across major freight corridors in India.
The proposed deployment will cover the Mumbai-Pune, Mundra-Morbi-Ahmedabad and Mumbai-Delhi corridors, which are among the country’s high-density freight routes. The initial rollout will begin with 50 vehicles on the Mumbai-Pune corridor in October 2026, before scaling up as EIM completes its battery-swapping network across the identified routes.
Under the partnership, EIM will contribute its integrated electric mobility ecosystem, including electric heavy vehicles, battery-swapping infrastructure, charging and energy solutions. OWS and Radiance Green Mobility will support the initiative through their expertise in commercial fleet deployment and logistics operations.
The initiative is aimed at accelerating the shift from diesel-powered freight transportation to electric mobility, while improving operational efficiency, energy-cost predictability and fleet utilisation.
EIM’s flagship Ashwa 55-ton electric tractor is designed for high-utilisation freight operations and is supported by a battery-swapping ecosystem intended to enable faster turnaround. The company has also homologated a 350-kWh battery version of the electric tractor.
Narendra Murkumbi, Managing Director, EIM, said the partnership will help enable heavy electric freight movement while delivering sustainability benefits and reducing dependence on imported oil.
Pankaj Surani, Managing Director, OWS, said the collaboration aims to develop dedicated electrified freight corridors that are efficient, cost-competitive and sustainable.
Vitthal Wable, Director, Radiance Green Mobility, said the company aims to expand its heavy commercial EV operations beyond the port ecosystem and accelerate sustainable logistics across key freight corridors.
The partnership marks a step towards building a scalable electric freight ecosystem in India, combining electric heavy vehicles, battery-swapping infrastructure and logistics expertise to support cleaner and more efficient transportation.
