Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. has recorded total sales of 201,723 units across domestic and international markets in Q2 FY27, compared with 144,397 units in Q2 FY26, registering 40 per cent year-on-year growth.
Domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 196,674 units during the quarter, up 40 per cent from 140,189 units in the corresponding quarter last year. International business contributed 5,049 units, compared with 4,208 units in Q2 FY26, representing 20 per cent growth. In September 2026, total passenger vehicle sales reached 70,210 units, compared with 60,907 units in September 2025, marking 15 per cent growth.
Electric vehicles remained a major contributor to the company’s performance. EV sales across domestic and international markets reached 47,150 units in Q2 FY27, up 90 per cent from 24,855 units in the year-ago quarter. EVs accounted for 23 per cent of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles’ portfolio during the quarter, compared with around 8 per cent for the wider industry.
CNG vehicles also recorded their highest-ever quarterly sales for the company, contributing 28 per cent of total volumes. Combined, EV and CNG models accounted for 51 per cent of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles’ sales in Q2 FY27, highlighting the growing contribution of alternative powertrains to its portfolio.
Shailesh Chandra, MD and CEO, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., said passenger vehicle demand maintained the momentum seen after GST 2.0, with industry Vahan volumes increasing by around 24 per cent year-on-year during the quarter. He added that Tata Motors crossed the 70,000-unit monthly sales mark in September and entered the festive period with strong demand across its portfolio.
The company also highlighted continued customer response to its SUV portfolio, with the Punch emerging as India’s highest-selling SUV during the quarter. Tata Motors further expanded its product range with the Curvv SeriesX, Sierra Legend Series and the all-new Tata Aeris, following its Q1 product launches.
During the quarter, the company also introduced TATA.CARS as its new customer-facing identity, reflecting its efforts to evolve its brand positioning alongside changing customer preferences.
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles expects demand to remain positive during the festive period, supported by its order book and customer traction. The company said it will focus on scaling production to meet demand while sustaining its growth momentum across powertrain and vehicle segments.
