Stellantis and Microsoft expand AI and cybersecurity partnership

Stellantis has entered into a five-year strategic partnership with Microsoft to advance its digital transformation through artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and cloud technologies.

The collaboration will focus on more than 100 AI-driven initiatives across areas including product development, customer care, operations and digital services.

Key applications will include predictive maintenance, AI-assisted validation and faster deployment of digital features, helping Stellantis improve operational efficiency while enhancing its connected vehicle capabilities.

As part of the partnership, Stellantis will strengthen its global cybersecurity capabilities through AI-powered analytics designed to protect connected vehicles, customer data, IT systems and manufacturing operations from evolving cyber threats.

The cybersecurity focus comes as vehicles increasingly become connected and software-defined, creating new requirements for protecting vehicle systems and digital infrastructure.

Stellantis will also modernise its IT infrastructure using Microsoft Azure cloud services, with the company targeting a 60% reduction in its data centre footprint by 2029. The transition is expected to improve scalability, efficiency and flexibility across its global operations.

The partnership builds on the existing relationship between Stellantis and Microsoft, combining Stellantis’ automotive engineering expertise with Microsoft’s capabilities in AI, cloud computing and cybersecurity.

Together, the companies aim to develop smarter and more connected mobility experiences while improving internal operations and accelerating the deployment of digital technologies.

The collaboration reflects the automotive industry’s growing reliance on technology partnerships as automakers increasingly adopt AI, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and software-defined vehicle technologies.
