Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged India’s automobile industry to continue focusing on innovation and excellence as the country’s mobility sector evolves through energy efficiency, diversification, technology and advanced manufacturing.
Speaking at the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) Annual Convention in New Delhi, Modi said the industry should chart a bold path towards Viksit Bharat while contributing to the transformation of India’s mobility sector.
He highlighted the rapid development of India’s infrastructure, noting that improved connectivity and more efficient logistics are helping reduce costs and strengthen the competitiveness of Indian manufacturing.
Modi also pointed to the role of recent Free Trade Agreements, which are providing Indian businesses with greater access to international markets. He said the automobile sector, already recognised in several parts of the world, is well positioned to further expand its global presence.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the ongoing transformation of the automotive sector is creating opportunities for growth, advanced manufacturing, energy efficiency and technology-led mobility.
He called on the Indian automobile industry to continue innovating, pursue excellence and proactively shape the next phase of the country’s mobility journey.
